Canadian Ambassador presents credentials to the President of Federative Republic of Brazil
The Ambassador of Canada in Brazil, Guillermo E. Rishchynski, met recently with the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, to present his credentials. The meeting was held at Palacio do Planalto in Brasilia.
Ambassador Rishchynski was CIDA's vice-president for the Americas before being designated as Canada's Ambassador to Brazil. On his second assignment in Brazil -where he previously served in the 1980s - he hopes to enhance the already positive relations between the two countries, particularly given the fact that Brazil figures among the priority countries in Canada's new International Policy Statement.
