Disasters (Civil and Natural) Evacuations

Each year the Canadian government assists hundreds of Canadians caught in civil or natural disasters. These disasters can range from hurricanes in the Caribbean to earthquakes in Taiwan to insurgencies in Sierra Leone or the Congo. Canada works closely with other countries such as Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States in coordinating assistance to their nationals. In the event of a disaster, listen to local news broadcasts for updates on the situation. Keep a low profile and maintain contact with your family to inform them of your situation.
