Rural Public Drinking Water Access

Welcome to the official web site for the Yukon Government's Rural Public Drinking Water Access Consultation.

This initiative is part of the Yukon government's ongoing commitment to providing safe, affordable drinking water to Yukoners. Already, over the past two years, we launched the rural domestic well program and the Department of Health and Social Services' free well testing for e-coli. New regulations for drinking water quality are also being phased in over time.

The community consultations are complete and you can read what other Yukoners consider to be important issues in managing Yukon’s drinking water in "What we Heard" (pdf 2.2MB).

Thank you to all the people who took the time to participate in the community discussions and for sharing your perspectives about clean safe drinking water. With this input a Yukon Rural Drinking Water Strategy will be developed which will consider all aspects of ensuring clean, safe drinking water is accessible in all Yukon communities.
