YUKON INTRODUCES ONLINE VEHICLE REGISTRATION RENEWALS

WHITEHORSE - Motor vehicle registration renewals just got a lot easier. The Yukon government announced that effective July 21, Yukoners will be able to renew their vehicle registrations online and pay by credit card.

"We are pleased to introduce an online system that will make it more convenient for Yukoners to renew their vehicle registrations," Community Services Minister Glenn Hart said.

The online vehicle registration renewal system uses a secure method of credit card payment that provides high level service and security. The system accepts Visa, American Express, and MasterCard payments.

"Being able to renew your vehicle registration on the Internet will help rural Yukoners, in particular," Hart said.  "Of course, our government remains committed to offering services in person, through the mail and by telephone."

To renew a vehicle registration online, go to the government’s homepage at www.gov.yk.ca, and click "Vehicle Registration Renewal" or go directly to https://vehicleregistration.gov.yk.ca.

Once a payment is submitted online, vehicle owners will receive the new license plate decals via regular mail within five to ten working days. Contact Yukon's Motor Vehicle branch for more information, call 667-5315, or visit online.
