Seven work sites were visited and students did a one week job shadow placement near the end of the program.

Four students went on to further employment training with Crime Prevention Yukon and five other students decided to undertake further developmental studies at the House of Learning. The students gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and valuable experience to assist them in finding and keeping work and in pursuing higher education.

"Yukon College's partnership with the Kwanlin Dun First Nation has resulted in wonderful opportunities for students. This program was made possible by the Department of Education's Community Training Funds," said Shelagh Beairsto, Dean of Developmental Studies at Yukon College, "The focus on training has challenged students to consider how to blend their life experience with their education to prepare themselves for meaningful work opportunities."
