Description:

In Children's Act matters, the Official Guardian has the exclusive right to determine whether a child requires separate representation by a lawyer or layperson in order to protect the rights and interests of the minor child.
When no other appointment has been made, the Official Guardian shall be the guardian of the estate within the Yukon of all infants who have no parent residing or living in the Yukon.
