This program encourages certain business loans by providing added security to lenders. Venture Partnership is an initiative of the Government of the Yukon, Department of Business, Tourism & Culture (Venture Loan Guarantee Program) and the Bank of Montreal, Bank of Nova Scotia, Business Development Bank of Canada, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Dana Naye Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada and the Toronto Dominion Bank. Lending institutions may apply to have a business loan partially guaranteed or insured in the event of loss. Guarantee amounts are a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $100,000. The guarantee level is 65 per cent of the venture loan, principal only. It is based on the net loss of the venture loan.
