John Greschner, Deputy Minister of Yukon Health and Social Services

John Greschner was appointed Deputy Minister of Yukon Health and Social Services in July 2004. Before taking on his new position with the Yukon Government, John worked for the Government of British Columbia, most recently as the Deputy Child and Youth Officer, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Investigator and Chair of the Tribunal Division of the Children's Commission.

During his career with the B.C. government, John also held the positions of Director of Salaried and Sessional Programs, Medical Services Plan; Executive Director of Pharmacare; Assistant Deputy Minister of Health; and Assistant Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Foods.

He began his career as a psychologist in rural and northern Saskatchewan, and managed community health and social services programs and mental health programs in a variety of hospital and community health organizations in Saskatchewan, Ontario and British Columbia.
