Prevention Services has a wide variety of resources on addiction issues and related topics that are available for loan to professionals.

Consultations

Prevention Consultants assist with the development of substance abuse prevention programs or presentations. Whether it’s to brainstorm ideas or to develop an agenda, a Prevention Consultant can help put together a program outline that is designed for a specific group. Alcohol and drug education kits

These kits are designed to provide teachers and other professionals with grade-appropriate resources for substance abuse education. Six kits are available for loan. These include:

  • Kindergarten – Grade 1
  • Grade 2 - Grade 3
  • Grade 4 - Grade 5
  • Grade 6 - Grade 7
  • Grade 8 - Grade 9
  • Grade 10 - 11 - 12

Each kit includes age–appropriate videos, games, lesson plan ideas and background research materials.

In addition to using these kits in the school setting, these kits can also be used for community presentations to children or youth. Allied professionals can borrow the kits by calling 667-5405 or toll free 1-800-661-0408, ext. 5405.

FASD Prevention Kit This kit is available for use by allied professionals who would like to deliver presentations to youth from ages 12-18. It includes videos, games and information that can be used in presentations to this age group.
