Vision: Yukoners achieving freedom from the abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
Mission: Assisting individuals and communities in reducing the harmful effects of alcohol and other drugs by providing quality addictions services.
Programs and Services
Prevention Services:
- Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and school-based prevention
- Training, consultation and capacity building
- Resource centre for allied professionals
- Information resource for general public
Detoxification Services:
- Safe withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs
- Awareness/education sessions
- Referral to ongoing treatment, self-help groups and other support services
- Detox Centre always open
Outpatient Counselling Services:
- Brief screening and assessment of alcohol/drug problems
- Individual counselling and support to families
- Aftercare support following live-in treatment services
- Referral to ongoing treatment, self-help groups and other support services
- Recovery Support Groups
- Community Partnerships
- Outreach counselling available for Whitehorse agencies
- Services to clients with concurrent disorders
Inpatient Treatment Services:
- Six 28-day live-in (residential) gender specific adult programs offered each year
- Men and women's follow-up program
Youth Services:
- Counselling, assessments and referral to community support services
- Support to families, focussed on alcohol and drug issues
- Men and women's follow-up program
- School-based counselling and prevention
- Educational workshops for teachers, parents and students
- Facilities alternative interventions
Outreach Services:
- Assists allied professionals in the communities to develop pre-treatment and aftercare programs for clients
- Delivers the addiction components of community wellness programs
- Assists communities build capacity
- Consultation on addiction related topics
- Community Partnerships
- Facilities a variety of addiction educational workshops to allied professionals who work in Yukon communities
- Facilities a variety of addictions related training to allied professionals who work in Yukon communities
