  Energy producers are exploring various alternatives to move Alaska natural gas to southern markets, including natural gas pipelines. The one of greatest interest to Yukoners is the proposed Alaska Highway Pipeline Project.
  
  If built, natural gas would be made available to many Yukon communities. This source of relatively cheap, relatively clean energy would have positive effects on overall Yukon air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while fostering economic development in the Yukon and it could pave the way for further exploration and development of our oil and gas reserves.
