Description:

The Information and Privacy Commissioner is an independent officer of the Yukon Legislative Assembly. The Commissioner monitors how the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPP Act) is administered and may receive comment or complaints from the public and conduct investigations into those complaints. The Commissioner may review refusals by government departments or an agent of government to provide access to records. The Commissioner may also review complaints from people who believe that their personal information was not collected, used or disclosed according to the ATIPP Act.
