Lee Pigage
Project Geologist

Lee has been conducting regional bedrock geology mapping programs with the Yukon Geology Program since 1998. He is involved with mapping projects in Anvil District (105K/2,3,5,6,7) near Faro, Yukon and LaBiche (95C) in southeast Yukon. Lee also helps design and standardize the geological databases and digital maps published by the Yukon Geology Program.

Lee completed his BSc in geology at the University of Wyoming and his MSc and PhD in geology at the University of British Columbia. His research was primarily in the fields of metamorphic petrology and structural geology. Since graduating he has worked for over 20 years for mining and exploration companies involved with lead, zinc, gold, copper, and coal before joining Yukon Geology Program. He has been involved in exploration and development of several deposit types in Yukon and northern British Columbia. His expertise includes regional, property, and mine geology mapping, exploration and development drilling, and ore deposit computer block modeling.

In addition to his work activities, Lee volunteers for classroom presentations and science fair judging through Innovators in the Schools and as a guest lecturer for the prospecting courses at the Yukon Chamber of Mines. He also helps coordinate the technical presentations at the yearly Whitehorse Geoscience Forum organized by the Yukon Chamber of Mines.
