Yukon Summer Career Placement Program (SCP)
Employers All employers must pay the Yukon minimum wage of $7.20 per hour or more. In addition all employment positions must provide a minimum of 30 hours per week, but will not normally exceed 40 hours a week and will have work terms that will last between 6 and 16 consecutive weeks. Work terms must be between May 1st to September 1st of the current year. Part-time employment is permissible only for disabled employees.

Students Eligibility Criteria:
STUDENT is defined as a person who attended full-time at an elementary, secondary, post-secondary or vocational school during the preceding academic year (for at lease one semester) and whose intent is to return to school full-time the following academic year. YOUTH is defined as a person between the ages of 15 and 25 who does not meet the definition of a student, who has been a Yukon resident since April 1, 2005, and possesses a valid Yukon Health Care Card. Application Process: To apply for a wage subsidy, employers must complete the application and submit it to Department of Education, Advanced Education Branch. The deadline for employers to apply for 2006 Summer Career Placement Program is FEBRUARY 28, 2006.
