Terry Fox Run

Terry Fox Run

CANADIAN FUND-RAISER FOR CANCER RESEARCH

Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines Peter Sutherland (centre) and wife Jo-Lynne recently led the annual for Cancer Research in Manila.  More than 500 volunteers composed of Canadian residents in Metro Manila, students from various universities, members of civic groups, health workers, and police trainees participated in the advocacy run organized by the Embassy of Canada and the Philippine Cancer Society.  The Terry Fox Run was able to raise more than PhP 300,000 that was donated to the Philippine Cancer Society.

The Terry Fox Run is an annual event led by Canadian communities worldwide to honour the memory of one of Canada's youngest and most popular folk heroes, Terry Fox. All proceeds of the local runs go to cancer treatment and research in the Philippines.
