UN Update - Press Review - a daily (Mon-Fri) summary of news, opinion analysis and research about the United Nations. Prepared by the Press and Public Affairs Office of the Mission of Canada for our staff and offered to the public as a service. Please note that we do not translate media coverage, so English articles are summarized in English, and French articles are summarized in French.

Newsletter Diplomatic Diary - the Ambassador's blog, an occasional missive to keep you informed about the key issues on Canada's work at the UN, with links to noteworthy articles and statements.

Statements by Venue

Security Council Statements - be notified each time Canada makes a statement to the Security Council.

General Assembly Statements - be notified each time Canada makes a statement to the General Assembly and its six committees.

Economic & Social Council Statements - be notified each time Canada makes a statement to ECOSOC or any of its functional commissions.

Statements to other forums - be notified when Canada makes a statement at special UN sessions, international conferences and other venues.

Note: Statements to the Human Rights Council are available by subscribing to "Statements on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs".

Please note that these choices duplicate the statements organized by venue. We suggest that you choose to subscribe either by venue or by theme.

Speeches by the Ambassador - be notified each time the Ambassador makes a public speech or delivers a statement at the United Nations

Statements on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs - be notified each time Canada makes a statement on human rights and humanitarian issues. Includes statements to the Human Rights Council.

Statements on Peace and Security - be notfied when Canada speaks on peace and security issues including disarmament, non-proliferation, peacekeeping, peacebuilding, the protection of civilians, and human security.

Statements on Development and the Environment - be notfied each time Canada speaks on issues of economic, social and sustainable development, and the environment.

Statements on Afghanistan

Statements on African Issues - be notified when Canada speaks on Africa, including country situations.

Statements on Haiti

Statements on the Middle East - be notified when Canada speaks on situations in western Asia, including the Middle East peace process, Iraq and Iran.

Statements on UN Reform - be notified when Canada speaks about renewing, changing and improving the United Nations itself.
