Canada’s International Market Access Priorities
We are pleased to present the 2006 edition of Opening Doors
to the World: Canada’s International Market Access Priorities
(CIMAP) report and commercial barriers database. CIMAP outlines
the Government’s market access plans and priorities by geographical
region and country, highlights market access results with the previous
year, details Canada’s involvement in multilateral and bilateral
market access initiatives and identifies foreign commercial barriers
(e.g., regulations, tariffs, import controls) in key markets. The
commercial barriers database is a useful tool for Canadian businesses
to develop an increased knowledge of markets they might wish to
enter.
The CIMAP report provides an overview of Canada’s commercial
relationship with key partners and the current challenges we are
facing. The report also presents our approach to several initiatives
undertaken to reduce commercial barriers.
About Trade & Investment
Barriers Database
This year marks the launch of the CIMAP commercial barriers database.
This database identifies the existence of commercial barriers and
presents key information pertinent to Canadian businesses. It is
designed to help Canadian businesses who currently export or are
weighing their export options, to identify issues that may affect
their decisions.
We are continually adding and updating information to the database.
We welcome you to search the database by sector, product code, country
or keyword.
