Canadian Organizations in New York

The Canadian Society of New York

Established in 1897, the Canadian Society has succeeded in its goal of fostering a spirit of goodwill between Canadians and Americans. The Society has long served as a platform for Canadian government and corporate leaders to interface with the New York community. In 1994, the Canadian Society of New York Foundation, Inc. was formed. This foundation sponsors various events throughout the year, donating net proceeds to several worthy children's charities throughout New York.

The Canadian Club of New York

Founded in 1885, The Canadian Club of New York has been a gathering place and home away from home for Canadians in New York and the surrounding area. The Club is currently located within the Penn Club where the Canadian Club Lounge is decorated with important works of Canadian art donated by members over the years. The Canadian Club maintains reciprocal relationships with many private clubs throughout Canada, the U.S., the Commonwealth and the world. The Club hosts many events of particular interest to Canadians during the year, including a Canadian University Alumni reception and the annual Canada Day reception.

Canadian Women's Club of New York City

The Canadian Women's Club of New York City was founded in 1920 by a small group of Canadian women who came to New York to further their education or professional careers. The objectives of the Club are to promote social and cultural gatherings between Canada and the United States and to establish a non-political organization in the best interests of Canadian women. The CWC also maintains a Scholarship Trust Fund, established in 1954, to support Canadian musicians and singers, furthering their studies or launching their careers in New York.

NYCanadians

The NYCanadians group is an informal social group of Canadians and friends of Canada that meets once every month at particular locations around Manhattan. They aim to be a friendly, down-to-earth group that enjoys getting together for drinks and good conversation while at the same time exploring what Manhattan has to offer. Notices are sent via e-mail. Visit the website to register.

Canadian University Alumni

Several Canadian universities plan programs and events for their alumni in the Tri-state area throughout the year. In addition, alumni from over 20 Canadian universities come together each fall at the annual Canadian alumni night.
