The NSERC Network,

The NSERC Network is made up of distinguished individuals who strongly believe that research in the natural sciences and engineering in universities is fundamental to the social and economic well-being of Canada and who actively support NSERC in its mandate to promote discoveries, innovation and the development of new Canadian scientists and engineers.

The Network assists NSERC and its community in bringing the Council's achievements to public attention. It provides a visible local NSERC presence across Canada and stimulates communication between the Council and the community it serves.

The Network is made up of two groups that work closely together:

NSERC Representatives

One member is appointed by each university across Canada. Chosen for their outstanding communications abilities and skills in interdisciplinary outreach, NSERC Representatives work with the Vice-Presidents of Research in arranging NSERC's presence in local initiatives and consultations. For more information, go to the NSERC Reps Information Centre.

Members-at-Large

Members-at-Large are active and recently retired researchers, as well as other prominent Canadians, who serve on a voluntary basis to promote NSERC and its community in the university and public arena. They also provide a support role to the NSERC Representatives. If you are interested in putting your name forward as a Member-at-Large of the NSERC Network, please contact either the NSERC Representative nearest you or Robert Roy (robert.roy@nserc.ca) at NSERC.

NSERC meets regularly with its Network to exchange information and secure feedback on regional and local issues.
