NSERC scholarships and fellowships invest in people, discovery and innovation to build a strong economy and improve the quality of life for all Canadians.

NSERC Support for Students and Fellows

Postgraduate Scholarships

• Postgraduate Scholarships: Each year NSERC approves a limited number of scholarships on a competitive basis for tenure at universities outside Canada. For more information see Program Guide for Students and Fellows.
• Postgraduate Supplement: British Chevening/Athlone-Vanier Engineering Fellowship
• The Summer Program in Japan or Taiwan provides graduate students in science and engineering with first-hand research experience, and an introduction to the university research system, as well as the culture and language of the respective country.

Postdoctoral Fellowships

• Postdoctoral Fellowships: Researchers who have received (or expect to receive) their doctorate from a Canadian university can hold postdoctoral fellowships at universities and research centres abroad. For more information see Program Guide for Students and Fellows.
