2006/11/08 The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC)/NSERC Research Partnerships Program will end on March 31, 2007. New applications to the program will not be accepted after November 30, 2006. Existing commitments to ongoing projects will be honoured.

NSERC and CIHR are revising the Collaborative Health Research Projects (CHRP) program. As such, we are not currently accepting any new Letters of Intent to apply to the program.

The partnership agreement between the Canadian Forest Service, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and NSERC ends on March 31, 2007.

In order to reflect the eligibility realities of the academic community, NSERC has added a question to the on-line system (Personal Data Form, Current Employment page). Everyone filling in a Personal Data Form must now answer the following question: Is your position at the eligible institution a tenured or tenure-track position? Request for Proposals – Inter-American Collaboration in Materials Research

Funding opportunities for collaborative activities in materials research between researchers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States. The deadline for Letter of Intent submission is August 28, 2006 and the deadline for application submission is October 16, 2006.

Further to the decision to terminate the Discovery Grants Reallocations Exercise in its previous form, NSERC has decided that future reallocation or allocation mechanisms will be based on Grant Selection Committee population dynamics (discipline dynamics) and the cost of research. Infrastructure Canada: Peer Reviewed Research Studies (PRRS) Program

On June 7, 2005, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) posted Updated Guidelines for Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Research on its Web site. NSERC and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) have an interim agreement with CIHR whereby the three agencies have agreed, as a condition of funding, to have their researchers adhere to the CIHR Updated Guidelines, until such time as they can be incorporated into the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans.
