National Summit

Quote: Canadians must become more innovative. Improvements in our innovative capacity are critical to productivity growth and wealth creation. Companies that are innovative are more profitable, create more jobs and fare better in global markets. The National Summit on Innovation and Learning was held in Toronto on November 18 and 19, 2002.

The objectives of the summit were to engage partners in the private sector, non-governmental organizations, academia and government in:

  • shaping the priorities for Canada's Innovation Strategy; and
  • seeking commitment from all sectors for a Canadian innovation and learning action plan.
