Research at U of T

The University of Toronto is one of the world's leading research universities. For more than 175 years, U of T has been home to a wealth of innovative minds whose accomplishments include discovering insulin, identifying the genes that cause cystic fibrosis and early-onset Alzheimer's, and developing an entirely new way of thinking about the mass media and its effect on the way we see the world.

Today, our internationally-renowned scholars conduct more than $3 million of research a day in countless fields. And that investment yields real results. From finding new treatments for disease to developing solutions for traffic congestion and creating better childhood education practices, U of T researchers have a tangible impact on every aspect of society.

This site offers a glimpse into the many facets of research at U of T. You will find information about conducting research, obtaining funding and developing research partnerships, as well as stories about the great research that happens here every day.
