All University of Toronto students receive a free email account with web-based access. Students should review the e-mail services provided by their respective campus and familiarize themselves with policies and procedures, including security issues.

Major Campus E-mail Systems

UTORmail

UTORmail is the institutional e-mail service of the University of Toronto providing e-mail access to all students, faculty, and staff. Developed by Computing and Network Services and supported by the Scotia Bank Information Commons, UTORmail is recognized as the first wide scale network service to be deployed cross-campus.

Web access to UTORmail is available through my.utoronto.ca, a pseudo portal system which also allows students to receive news and event notices from the departments and student groups that are of interest.

A UTORid and password are required to use UTORmail. Students who do not have a UTORid should visit the UTORid management page.

UTM E-mail

All UTM students receive a free email account with web-based access, along with access to online file storage. In just a few easy steps students can have their UTM account and also a UTORid account from any computer that has access to the web. Students will need to obtain their Student Card from the UTM Registrar’s Office to set up a UTM account online. There will be a link at the end of the account creation process to set up a UTORid. When receiving a T-Card, students will also receive a letter with a secret activation key (SAK) to activate their UTORid account.

Why have two separate accounts? Students will need their UTM account to access the computer system at UTM and send assignments or e-mails to your professors. The UTORid account will allow students to use our wireless network access and it can also be used in Robarts Library on the St. George campus. Please visit the UTM Computing Services Office for more information.

UTSC E-mail

A UTSC computing account provides access to workstations in the Computing Labs and the Informatics Commons in the UTSC Library. The account also allows students to access e-mail and UTSCWeb (the intranet). Once students have registered and received their T-Card, they can then register for their account online.
