Summer Abroad

The University of Toronto Summer Abroad programs have been operating for more than 30 years. These programs are designed to enrich students’ academic lives by providing an exciting and educational international experience. Since 1972, thousands of students from across Canada and the United States have earned a University of Toronto credit overseas in one of our programs. The response has been consistently enthusiastic – many previous participants rate their Summer Abroad experience as the best summer of their lives!

Study Abroad Opportunities

The International Students Centre (ISC) offers information on a large number of options for studying abroad  including “Go Global: Work and Study Abroad”.

International Student Exchange Office

The International Student eXchange Office administers university-wide international and Canadian exchange programs. These programs allow you to study elsewhere for either one term or a full academic year, and are open to U of T students beyond their first year of study.

Travel Medicine Clinic

Phone: (416) 978-8030

The University of Toronto Health Service is a designated Health Canada Travel Medicine Clinic. As such it offers a complete travel immunization and education program. The travel immunization and education program takes longer than the time allocated for a drop-in appointment, so travel appointments must be booked in advance. Travel appointments are quite complex and sometimes require more than one visit – so start early! Students are seen by a number of practitioners in a complex pattern which the staff at Health Service calls "the Travel Medicine Shuffle". Visit Health Service online for more information.

Safety Abroad Program

The Safety Abroad Program offers advice and assistance to members of the University community travelling outside of Canada on University sponsored activities.  The Go Global Guide provides online information for international travel as well as information on travel aptitude, budgeting, passports, visas and other  documents, packing, emergency contacts, culture shock, issues of diversity and re-entry.

St. George Career Resource Library

The Career Centre's Career Resource Library has a section on work/study/travel abroad with educational directories, calendars and general reference directories.
