INMS is best known for its work in the development and maintenance of primary measurement standards and calibration facilities. However, in the course of these fundamental activities, our metrologists are continually developing new techniques, technologies and algorithms that have applications beyond the world of measurement science. INMS uses this expertise to benefit Canadian industry, undertaking a variety of technology transfer activities involving collaborative projects and the licensing of Intellectual Property. The Institute also provides expertise and contributes resources that can yield greater benefits from longer-term research and development strategies.
