INMS - making its way in the marketplace

INMS is best known for its work in the development and maintenance of primary measurement standards and calibration facilities. However, in the course of these fundamental activities, our metrologists are continually developing new techniques, technologies and algorithms that have applications beyond the world of measurement science. Innovations developed at INMS affect sectors as diverse as energy, health, manufacturing, and telecommunications.

INMS uses this expertise to benefit Canadian industry, undertaking a variety of technology transfer activities involving collaborative projects and the licensing of Intellectual Property. The Institute also provides expertise and contributes resources that can yield greater benefits from longer-term research and development strategies. Clients and partners look to INMS to address challenges relating to anything that radiates or senses heat, light, x-rays or sound, or has unique physical, mechanical, chemical or electrical characteristics.
