Pay Equity Settlement

Note to Current and Former NRC Employees

I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation and admiration for those who have worked so diligently on this issue and would be remiss if I did not specifically mention the efforts and commitment put forth by Mr. Wayne Findlay, Past-President of RCEA, who throughout his term worked hard on behalf of his members to advance the arguments in support of the resultant settlement, Mr. Serge Croteau, the current RCEA President, who demonstrated an openness and willingness to work collectively with NRC in resolving this matter, and finally Ms. Joan Van Den Bergh who, in her capacity as a Senior Labour Relations Officer with RCEA, never lost sight of the goal of securing a just settlement for the members she represents. Her hard work and commitment are indeed worthy of special mention. I would also like to thank and officially recognize the drive and determination of Ms. Mary McLaren and Mr. Steve Blais of the Human Resources Branch who helped us achieve this remarkable outcome.

On behalf of the management representatives of NRC, I would like to express my congratulations to employees who will benefit from this settlement for their patience and determination. I am confident that this achievement is an indication that a new era of employee/employer relations has been launched, one that will see all parties work tirelessly to better the lives and work environment of each and every one of us employed here at NRC. Again, congratulations!
