What's New - January 10, 2002

Effective January 2002, the Commission has reintroduced separate numbering and identification of broadcasting and telecommunication decisions, notices and orders.

Broadcasting Decisions:

2002-1 Les Communications Matane inc., Matane and Les Méchins, Quebec. APPROVED - Addition of a transmitter at Les Méchins.

2002-2 Nor-Com Electronics Ltd., Nipawin, Saskatchewan. APPROVED - New English-language FM radio station at Nipawin, expiring 31 August 2008.

Telecom Decision:

2002-1 Application of the winback rules with respect to primary exchange service. Reference: 8622-C25-12/01.

Telecom Orders:

2002-1 The Commission approves, on a final basis, Aliant Telecom's application, filed on behalf of NBTel Inc., dated 26 November 2001, to revise the E9-1-1 service rates for 2002. Reference: NBTel TN 867.

2002-2 The Commission approves, on a final basis, MTS' application, dated 29 November 2001, relating to the reduction of the monthly rate for province-wide E9-1-1 service from $0.20 to $0.19 per exchange service.Reference: TN 470.

2002-3 The Commission hereby approves, on an interim basis, the fixed-rate per-order charges of $46.50 for business and $25.25 for residence, and the variable-rate per-loop charges of $27 for business and $17 for residence effective the date of this order, for TCI and SaskTel. Reference: 8643-C12-06/00.

2002-4 CRTC approves in part TELUS Communications Inc.'s proposal to introduce a customer-specific arrangement. Reference: TN 21.
