Telecom Decisions:

2002-13 Extending the availability of alternative formats to consumers who are blind. Reference: 8638-C12-50/01. In this decision, the Commission establishes a condition of service that carriers must include in tariffs, contracts or other arrangements with resellers. Under this condition, billing statements and bill inserts must be provided in alternative format to subscribers who are blind, on request, and information setting out rates, terms and conditions of a service must be provided to subscribers or potential subscribers who are blind.

2002-14 Incumbent local exchange carrier service intervals for unbundled local loop orders. Reference: 8622-A4-18/01. The Commission directs that, as of 1 April 2002, the ILECs provide CLECs, at least 90% of the time, with: i) migrated unbundled type A and B loops, including all sub-types, within two business days; and ii) new unbundled type A and B loops, including all sub-types, within five business days.

2002-13 Call for comments – cable inside wire lease fee. Deadlines for comments: 8 April and 22 April 2002.

Telecom Orders:

2002-117 The Commission approves an application by Bell Canada to revise General Tariff items 60, 70, 680 and 685, in order to align tariff references to the company's exchanges and wire centres with the revised banding structure put in place by Decision CRTC 2001-238. Reference: TN 6652. Eff. date = 23.03.02.

2002-118 The Commission approves an application by Bruce Municipal Telephone System (BMTS) to revise section 900 of its General Tariff in order to increase to $34.95 the monthly rate for its digital subscriber line (DSL) residence service; and introduce 1.5 Mbps and 3.0 Mbps DSL business service at contracted and non-contracted rates. Reference: TN 97. Eff. date = 08.03.02.

2002-119 The Commission approves, on an interim basis, an application by GT Group Telecom Services Corp. (Group Telecom) to add General Tariff item 6, Late payment charge. This change will cover the administration and carrying charges related to accounts that are owed to the company and are in arrears. Reference: TN 16. Eff. date = 15.03.02.

2002-120 The Commission approves an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. to transfer tariff items concerning business single-line access to Aliant Telecom General Tariff, to remove from NBTel General Tariff items related to the number of terminal equipment connected and to two expired promotions; and remove from MTT General Tariff items relating to Touch-Tone differential and the business one party analog switching differential. Reference: Aliant Telecom tariff notice (TN) 6, NBTel TN 875, Island Tel TN 565, MTT TN 812 and NewTel TN 665. Eff. date = 15.03.02.
