DECISIONS:

2000-326 British Columbia. RENEWED - Broadcasting licences for the radiocommunication distribution undertakings listed in the appendix to the decision, from 1 September 2000 to 31 August 2007.

2000-327 British Columbia. RENEWED - Broadcasting licences for the radiocommunication distribution undertakings listed in the appendix to the decision, from 1 September 2000 to 31 August 2007.

2000-328 Astral Television Networks Inc., Across Canada. APPROVED - Application by Astral Television Networks Inc. to acquire the assets of the pay television programming undertaking Super Écran, currently owned by Les Chaînes Télé Astral inc., and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of this undertaking.

2000-329 Dewis Cable Incorporated, Kennetcook, Nova Scotia. APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking (subscription television) serving Kennetcook, from Kennetcook Cable Vision Limited and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of this undertaking.

2000-330 9079-3670 Québec inc., Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce, Quebec. APPROVED - Acquisition of the assets of radio programming undertaking CHEQ-FM Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce, from Gestion Overtime inc., and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of this undertaking.

2000-331 Télécâble Blouin inc., Grand-Remous and Quyon, Quebec. APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets of the cable distribution undertakings serving the above-noted localities, from 9033-4111 Québec inc. and 3152286 Canada inc., and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings.

2000-332 Maritime Tel & Tel Limited, Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford and Sackville), Nova Scotia. APPROVED – Licence to carry on a cable distribution undertaking to serve the Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford and Sackville), expiring 31 August 2006.

2000-773 The Commission approves MTS's request to introduce Call answer mini as an option to voice messaging service for individual line residence/ business customers at a monthly rate of $3. Reference:  TN 420. Eff. date = 15.09.2000.

2000-774 The Commission approves MTS's request to introduce Combined mailbox service as an option to Call answer, MessageManager or wireless Message Centre for individual line residence/ business and Centrex customers at an additional monthly rate of $5. Reference:  TN 421. Eff. date = 15.09.2000.

2000-775 The Commission approves TCI's request to permit the availability of Asymmetrical Digital Subcriber Line (ADSL) Access to Individual Line Service on individual lines that are subscribed to by a reseller, when the reseller consents to an ADSL service provider providing ADSL service to the end-user of the individual lines. The Commission also approves the revised Letters of Authorization filed on 11 July 2000. Reference:  TN 217. Eff. date = 16.08.2000.

2000-776 The Commission approves Northwestel's request to make housekeeping changes to its Voice messaging service. Reference:  TN 736. Eff. date = 31.08.2000.

2000-777 The Commission approves O.N. Tel's request to update its tariff pages using a new format, font and software, as well as the Table of contents and Index pages. Reference:  TN 74. Eff. date = 01.09.2000.

2000-778 The Commission approves Québec-Téléphone's request to apply a $15 charge when a customer pays his account using a credit card and that there are insufficient funds. Reference:  TN 278. Eff. date = 28.08.2000.

2000-779 The Commission approves Télébec's request to establish extended area service between the exchanges of Barraute and Senneterre. Reference:  TN 246. Eff. date = 13.09.2000.

2000-780 The Commission approves NewTel's request to provide community calling plan service between the exchanges of Hillgrade and Twillingate. Reference:  TN 637. Eff. date = 30.09.2000.

2000-781 The Commission approves on an interim basis the Basic Listing Interchange File Agreement. Reference:  8340-Q1-0651/00.

2000-782 The Commission approves the following agreements between Cannect Communications Inc. and TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc.: a) an Interconnection Agreement for the Provision of 9-1-1 Service to a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier; and b) a Message Relay Service Agreement. Reference:  8340-C40-0646/00 and 8340-C40-0647/00.

2000-783 The Commission approves Bell Canada's request to withdraw high frequency remote radio service in Quebec. Bell Canada will transfer facilities used to provide remote radio service to Groupe Pagex, a telecommunications company with headquarters in Chicoutimi, Quebec. Pagex will offer the remote radio service now provided by Bell Canada. Reference:  TN 6470.

2000-784 The Commission denies an application by Téléphone Guèvremont Inc. to make Interurbain Guèvremont inc. the default provider of toll services to Guèvremont's local service customers. Reference:  TN 18 .

2000-785 The Commission approves, among other things, the Téléphone Guèvremont Inc.'s final 1998 Carrier Access Tariff of $0.0666 per minute. Reference:  TNs 21 and 21A and 8638-G1-01/99.

2000-786 New area code overlay to be introduced in 604 region. The Commission approves the introduction of a new area code in the region currently served by area code 604. The new area code will be implemented in a "concentrated overlay" over the exchanges in and around the Greater Vancouver Regional District as well as the Abbotsford and Mission exchanges. All existing customers in the 604 area code will retain their current telephone number. Once implemented on 3 November 2001, new numbers can be assigned from the new area code. At that time, unassigned central office codes in the 604 area code will be dedicated exclusively to locations outside of the new area code. Reference:  8698-C12-06/00.
