INFORMATION:
We are pleased to announce that, on May 30th,
Mr. David Colville, Vice-Chairman, Telecommunications was honoured by the Canadian
Information Processing Society's (CIPS) by becoming the recipient of the 1st
Canadian ICT Industry Award. In 1990, Mr. Colville was appointed as Commissioner for the
CRTC and in 1995 was appointed as Vice-Chair, Telecommunications. As Vice-Chair, he
oversaw the dramatic restructuring of the telecommunications industry in Canada, including
the introduction of local competition and the deregulation of competitive services. He
also chaired the special hearing on regulation and the Internet which resulted in Canada
being the first country in the world to state that it would not regulate the Internet. In
addition to his role with the CRTC, Mr. Colville has served on the Board of Directors in
several capacities since 1986 and he continues to do so.

Shawville Cable Company Inc., Shawville (Québec). The Commission
announces that it has approved by Letter of Authority A00-0042 dated 29 May 2000, the
transfer of control of Shawville Cable Company Inc., licensee of the cable distribution
undertaking serving Shawville, through the transfer of all of the issued and outstanding
shares held by Messrs. Albert Armstrong, Robert Campbell, Waverley Moorhead, Charles
McDowell and Royce Richardson to Regional Cablesystems Inc., a widely-held Canadian
company.

Commission approves Bell Canada's request for a custom-designed arrangement to provide for
a DS-1 facility between the customer's premises in Oxdrift and the Dryden, Ontario
