INFORMATION:
We are pleased to announce that, on May 30th, Mr. David
Colville, Vice-Chairman, Telecommunications was honoured by the Canadian Information
Processing Society's (CIPS) by becoming the recipient of the 1st Canadian ICT Industry
Award. In 1990, Mr. Colville was appointed as Commissioner for the CRTC and in 1995 was
appointed as Vice-Chair, Telecommunications. As Vice-Chair, he oversaw the dramatic
restructuring of the telecommunications industry in Canada, including the introduction of
local competition and the deregulation of competitive services. He also chaired the
special hearing on regulation and the Internet which resulted in Canada being the first
country in the world to state that it would not regulate the Internet. In addition to his
role with the CRTC, Mr. Colville has served on the Board of Directors in several
capacities since 1986 and he continues to do so.

Commission approves Bell Canada's request to extend the Internet Call Display promotion to
15 July 2000. Eff. date = 15-06-2000.
2000-540 Bell Canada
TN 6480. The Commission approves on an
interim basis an ex parte application filed by Bell Canada on 19 May 2000.
2000-541 MTS TN 414. The Commission approves MTS's request to
introduce 10, 100 or 1,000 Mbps ethernet connectivity within metropolitan areas defined as
LAN-C serving areas. Eff. date = 16.06.2000.
2000-542 TCBC TN 4071. The Commission approves TCBC's
request to extend the enrolment period of the Business Three Pac promotion to
15 August 2000 and to extend the promotion end date to 1 October 2000.
Eff. date = 16.06.2000.
2000-543 TCI TN 224. The Commission approves TCI's request to provide an
initial DS-1 access channel from a specific customer location outside the base rate area
served by the Bear Canyon central office. Eff. date = 01.07.2000.
2000-544 TCI TN 225. The Commission approves TCI's request
to provide an initial DS-1 access channel from a specific customer location outside the
base rate area served by the Lodgepole central office.

2000-545 TCI TN 226. The Commission approves TCI's request
to provide an initial DS-1 access channel from a specific customer location outside the
base rate area served by the Beaverlodge central office.

2000-546 TCI TN 227. The Commission approves TCI's request
to provide an initial DS-1 access channel from a specific customer location outside the
