DECISIONS:

2001-477 - Rogers Broadcasting Limited, Ottawa, Ontario. - RENEWED - Broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CKBY-FM Ottawa, from 1 September 2001 to 30 November 2001.

2001-478 - Rogers Ottawa Limited/Limitée, Ottawa, Ontario. - APPROVED – Amendment to the licence for the cable distribution undertaking serving Ottawa, during the "Jerry Lewis Labour Day Telethon" which will allow the licensee to interrupt the carriage of the telethon on originating station WHEC (NBC) Rochester, New York, in order to broadcast locally-produced segments of the telethon.

2001-479 - CHAU-TV Communications ltée, Carleton, Sainte-Marguerite-Marie, etc, Quebec; Saint-Quentin, Kedgwick, etc., New Brunswick - APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets of the television programming undertaking CHAU-TV Carleton and its transmitters. The licence will expire 31 August 2005.

2001-480 - Bras d’Or Broadcasting Limited, Sydney, Nova Scotia - APPROVED - Transfer of the effective ownership and control of Bras d’Or Broadcasting Limited, licensee of CHER Sydney, to Maritime Broadcasting System Limited.

2001-481 - The Gulf Broadcasting Company Limited, Summerside, Prince Edward Island - APPROVED - Authority to transfer the effective ownership and control of The Gulf Broadcasting Company Limited (Gulf Broadcasting), licensee of CJRW-FM Summerside, to Maritime Broadcasting System Limited.

2001-482 - Global Communications Limited and Global Television Network Inc., Partners of Montreal Ethnic Television, G.P., a general partnership, Montréal, Quebec - APPROVED - Acquire the assets of the ethnic television programming undertaking CJNT-TV Montréal. The Commission will issue a licence to the partners in the general partnership which will expire 31 August 2007.

2001-483 - G and M Business News Holdings Limited on behalf of itself and G and M Business News Limited, a general partnership, Across Canada - APPROVED – Acquisition of the 50% partnership interest in Report on Business Television, a general partnership (ROBTv) beneficially owned by Global Communications Limited and currently under a trust arrangement with Mr. Albert Gnat, Q.C. as the trustee.

2001-484 - Senior Engineer Communications, Saskatchewan Power Corporation (Doug Brownlee and his successors), Athabasca Hydro Stations, Saskatchewan - APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving the Athabasca Hydro Stations from Brad Nielsen. The licence will expire 31 August 2002.

2001-485 - Drumheller Regional Business Development Centre Corp., operating as Drumheller Regional Chamber of Development and Tourism, Drumheller, Alberta - APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets of radio programming undertaking CHTR-FM Drumheller, from The Big Country Tourist Association. The licence will expire 31 August 2003.

2001-486 - Telelatino Network Inc., Across Canada - RENEWED - Broadcasting licence for the specialty programming undertaking Telelatino, from 1 December 2001 to 31 August 2002.

NOTICES OF PUBLIC HEARING:

2001-9 - The Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 15 October 2001 at 9:00 a.m., at the Renaissancee Vancouver Hotel Harbourside, 1133 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, to consider various broadcasting licences. Deadline for Intervention: 20 September 2001

ORDERS:

2001-630 - The Commission approves TELUS Québec's request to introduce two promotions for local business service customers from 27 August to 31 December 2001: the first promotion combines the Voice messaging and Ident-a-call features at $5.95 per month for the first two months; and the second promotion combines the Voice messaging, Ident-a-call, Call waiting, Name and number display, Three-way calling, Intercom service, Call return, Call forwarding and Call screen at $11.50 per month for the first two months. Reference: TN 311.

2001-631 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, Northwestel's application dated 22 May 2001 relating to the introduction of a $0.25 rates compensation per call which applies to the interexchange carriers (IXC) for every toll-free call that orignates at the company's public or semi-public telephones and is carried by the IXC. Reference: TN 756.

2001-632 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, Northern's application dated 14 June 2001 to remove a Special Assembly Tariff which provided a virtual private network between a customer and its locations. Reference: TN 150.

2001-633 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, Northern's application dated 19 June 2001 to provide a virtual private network between a customer and its location. Reference: TN 152.

2001-634 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, Dryden MTS' application dated 5 June 2001 to introduce asymmetric digital subscriber line access service and to provide for the interconnection arrangements for digital subscriber line (DSL) service providers. Reference: TN 19.

2001-635 - The Commission approves Northern's request to introduce a sales promotion program to waive the multi-element service charges associated with the Centrex multi-access line service, from 17 September to 26 October 2001. Reference: TN 154.

2001-636 - The Commission approves, on an interim basis, Northern's request to increase local channel rates, with the exception of channels between buildings on continuous properties. Reference: TN 156. Eff. date = 18.08.01.

2001-637 - The Commission approves O.N. Telcom's request to revise its tariff which will improve the terms under which customers will be able to temporarily suspend their primary exchange services, at reduced rates. Reference: TN 93. Eff. date = 13.08.01.

2001-638 - The Commission approves O.N. Telcom's request to remove Stentor/Bell trademarks and include minor housekeeping changes to update the table of contents and index. Reference: TN 94. Eff. date = 14.09.01.

2001-639 - The Commission approves O.N. Telcom's request to extend its Points reward plan for toll discounts to 1 September 2002. Reference: TN 95. Eff. date = 01.09.01.

2001-640 - The Commission approves, on an interim basis, TELUS Québec's request to reintroduce DS-3 access service to the digital network services. Reference: TN 312. Eff. date = 03.09.01.
