NEWS RELEASE:

CRTC gives final approval to MTS Communications Inc. telephone rate increases

DECISIONS:

2001-198 Société de Télédiffusion du Québec. Application number 2000-2359-9 – APPROVED – Decrease in effective radiated power for CIVA-TV-1 Rouyn, Quebec from 143,200 watts to 122,800 watts. 

2001-199 Société de Télédiffusion du Québec. Application number 2000-2360-7 APPROVED – Decrease in effective radiated power for CIVA-TV Val d'Or, Quebec from 130,600 watts to 104,500 watts. 

2001-200 3553230 Canada Inc. Application number 2001-0385-4 - APPROVED – Transfer of effective control of 3553230 Canada inc., licensee of CJMS AM Saint-Constant, to Communications Médialex inc. 

2001-201 CHUM Limited. Application numbers 2001-0411-7, 2001-0412-5, 2001-0413-3, 2001-0414-1. APPROVED – Extension of time limit to implement the Transitional Digital Radio programming undertakings at Windsor, Ontario. 

2001-202 This decision sets out the Commission's determinations in setting the rate increases necessary to allow MTS Communications Inc. to recover its income tax expense for the years 2000 and 2001. Reference:  8661-C12-04/00.

2001-203 Ex parte request of 23 February 2001 with respect to the interim approval of a service improuvement plan (SIP) and revenue requirement. 

2001-204 The Commission, by majority decision, approves the Coalition for Better Co-Location (CBC) - Part VII application for expedited relief with respect to the current co-location regime, dated 17 July 2000.

NOTICES:

2001-27-1 Correction: In Public Notice CRTC 2001-27, the Commission announced that it would be placing certain aggregate financial data with respect to the Canwest Global and CTV multi station groups on the public file. As of 28 March 2001 the Commission placed a revised version of the table entitled "Canwest Canadian Programming Expenses – 2000" on the public file.

2001-41 The Broadcasting Licence Fee Regulations, 1997 SOR/97-144, 29 March 1997 (the regulations), provide for the payment of a Part I licence fee by certain broadcasting undertakings.

ORDERS:

2001-278 The CRTC approves increases to certain Bell Canada's residential primary exchange services rates. Reference:  TN 6557.

2001-279 The Commission accepts the views expressed by many parties that local service provider identification information does not reveal intimate details of the lifestyle or personal choices of subscribers. The Commission would therefore be prepared to approve a tariff offering this service to law enforcement agencies. Reference:  8665-C12-10/00 and TN 6479.
