NEWS RELEASE:

CRTC assigns access number 211 to Public Information and Referral Services

DECISIONS:

2001-475 - Allocation of three-digit dialing for public information and referral services. Reference: 8665-C12-12/00

2001-476 - Telemedia Radio Inc. on behalf of Télémédia Radio (Québec) inc., Chicoutimi, Trois-Rivières/Shawinigan, etc., Quebec - APPROVED - Applications to undertake a corporate reorganization. Telemedia will transfer a number of its radio assets, essentially located in Quebec, to Télémédia Radio (Québec) inc.

2001-623 - The Commission approves, on an interim basis, version 1.0 of the PIC/CARE (primary interexchange carrier/customer account record exchange) automated procedures handbook for designated toll service providers; version 1.3 of the PIC/CARE mechanized procedures for designated toll service providers; and tariff revisions pertaining to the provision of equal access. Reference: TN 32. Eff. date = 09.08.01.

2001-624 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, MTT’s application to introduce an offer consisting of a small business network service access and one additional feature. The customer has the option of adding either (a) another additional feature and Internet service or (b) two additional features and Internet services, for an additional charge. Reference: TN 777/A.

2001-625 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, MTT's application to increase the hours of usage of Internet service to unlimited for customers subscribing to residential service package No. 4. Reference: TN 778.

2001-626 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, Island Tel's application to offer residential customers three levels of service that include local service, long distance calling, enhanced network features and Internet access. Reference: TN 539.

2001-627 - The Commission approves, on a final basis, Island Tel's application to introduce a special rate to customers not subscribing to any local enhanced service. Reference: TN 540.

2001-628 - The Commission approves OTA's request to revise tariff pages, check pages, table of contents and index pages of the Ontario Independent Services Tariff. Reference: TN 78. Eff. date = 09.08.01.

2001-629 - The Commission denies Bell Canada's application to revise rates and introduce a three-year minimum contract for the local link package service. Reference: TN 6583
