Broadcasting Decision:

2004-3 Complaint by Novus Entertainment Inc. alleging anti-competitive marketing practices by Shaw Cablesystems Company. The Commission dismisses a complaint by Novus Entertainment Inc., that Shaw Cablesystems Company contravened section 9 of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations. That section prohibits a licensee from giving an undue preference to any person, including itself, or subjecting any person to an undue disadvantage. [.pdf¨]

Telecom Decision:

2004-1 The Commission forbears, with some conditions, from regulating single-line inside wire services provided by People's Telephone Company of Forest Inc. Customers without a jack-ended demarcation device will not be required to pay for diagnostic, repair or maintenance services to their inside wiring when reporting transmission problems. Reference: 8640-P1-01/02.

Broadcasting Public Notice:

2004-1 The Commission has received various broadcasting applications. Intervention deadline: 7 February 2004.

Telecom Costs Order:

2004-1 The Commission approves the application for costs by l'Union des Consommateurs with respect to its participation in the proceeding initiated by Public Notice CRTC 2001-24 entitled Competition in the local exchange and local payphone markets in the territories of Québec-Téléphone and Télébec ltée. Reference: 4754-228 and 8622-C12-13/01.

Telecom Orders:

2004-9 The Commission approves an application by People's Telephone Company of Forest Inc., dated 23 August 2002, to introduce item 7, Connection of Primary Exchange Service to Inside Wire and Jacks, to section 100 of its General Tariff. Reference: TN 43.

2004-10 The Commission approves the Agreement Specifying the Procedures of the Interexchange Carrier Group between TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI) and YAK Communications (Canada) Inc. TCI filed the application on 20 November 2003. Reference: 8340-T42-200317760.

2004-11 The Commission approves an application by Aliant Telecom Inc., dated 18 November 2003, to introduce Electronic News Gathering Service in order to provide access to occasional use video channels. Reference: TN 111. Eff. date = 08.01.04.

2004-12 The Commission approves an application by Northwestel Inc., dated 21 November 2003, to revise General Tariff items related to mileage charges in order to: (a) incorporate items 704, 706 and 707 into item 701; (b) increase the monthly charge for the first quarter mile or remaining fraction mile for channels between buildings in the same exchange and on the same continuous or different properties of the customer from $20.00 to $23.00; and (c) increase the monthly charge for each additional quarter mile or remaining fraction mile for channels between buildings in the same exchange and on the same continuous or different properties of the customer from $5.70 to $6.55. 2004-13 The Commission approves on an interim basis Maskatel inc.'s proposed rates reflecting the Commission's determinations in Telecom Decisions CRTC 2003-12 and 2003-13. The company filed the application on 4 November 2003 and amended it on 8 December 2003, Reference: TNs 4 and 4A. Eff. date = 01.06.02.
