Broadcasting Decision:
2004-264
Aboriginal Voices Radio Inc., Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec. APPROVED –
Extension of time limit to commence the operation of the native FM programming
undertaking, until 14 October 2004.
Broadcasting Public Notices:
2004-44 The
Commission has received an application by W Network Inc. (previously known as
Lifestyle Television 1994 Limited). The deadline for submission of
interventions/comments is 13 August 2004.
2004-45 Call for
comments on proposals for the addition of Fox News and NFL Network to the lists
of satellite services eligible for distribution on a digital basis. Comments must
be received by the CRTC and by the CCTA on or before 9 August 2004.
2004-46 Channel
placement of certain services whose national distribution has been required
pursuant to section 9(1)(h) of the Broadcasting Act – Call for comments on
tools to promote and improve the visibility of these services. The Commission

2004-47 Proposal
by the Canadian Cable Television Association to amend the policy regarding the
use of local availabilities – Call for comments. The Commission will accept
comments that it receives on or before 7 October 2004.
2004-48 The
Commission has received an application by Vidéotron ltée, on behalf of itself and
its subsidiaries CF Cable TV Inc. and Videotron (Regional) Ltd. The deadline for

Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing:
2004-7 The
Commission will hold a public hearing following the conclusion of the public
hearing commencing on 7 September 2004 announced in Broadcasting Notice of
Public Hearing CRTC 2004-5 at which Star Choice will be required to show cause
why a mandatory order should not be issued. The deadline dates for comments are:
23 July 2004, 3 August 2004 and 10 August 2004.

2004-217 The
Commission approves an application by Bell Canada, dated 3 June 2004, in order to
provide a customer contact centre relay operator to interact with a US caller and
request the required destination telephone number from the calling party.

2004-218 The
Commission approves an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications, dated
29 April 2004 and amended on 3 June 2004, in order to add the communities of
Lakeside Beach, Steen Subdivision and Waskateena Beach in rate group 1 and the

2004-219 The
Commission approves an application by Bell Canada, dated 26 May 2004 and amended
on 2 June 2004, in order to provide the customer with a 56 Kbps channel for
satellite access between Kuujjuak and Montréal (Quebec). Reference: TNs 6816 and

2004-220 The
Commission approves an application by Téléphone Guèvremont inc., dated
24 December 2003 and amended on 23 April 2004 and 28 May 2004, in order to
renumber several General Tariff items and to remove references that no longer

2004-221 The
Commission approves an application by Téléphone Guèvremont inc., dated
29 December 2003 and amended on 23 April 2004 and 28 May 2004, in order to
renumber several General Tariff items, to insert rates and charges inadvertently
omitted and to add minor wording changes to sections 2.1 to 2.24. Reference:

2004-222 The
Commission approves Appendices 19, 20 and 21 of Schedule C to the Master
Agreement for Local Interconnection between TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI) and

2004-223 The
Commission approves an application by Northwestel Inc., dated 1 June 2004, to
offer a video conferencing service promotion between 1 September 2004 and
31 December 2004. Reference: TN 810.
2004-224 The
Commission approves an application by NorthernTel Limited Partnership, dated
6 May 2004, to increase the monthly rates for its residential and business
primary exchange services. Reference: TN 206. Eff. date = 09.07.04.
2004-225 The
Commission approves an application by Aliant Telecom Inc., dated 27 May 2004, in
order to require resellers, as a condition of resale, to provide complete
end-customer information and any changes to end-customer information within
30 days of the change for use in populating the 9-1-1 database and to abide by
the same confidentiality provisions applicable to Canadian carriers. Reference:
