News Release:

CRTC approves four new Toronto radio stations

Broadcasting Decisions:

2003-115 3885275 Canada Inc. “Canadian Multicultural Radio”, Toronto, Ontario. APPROVED – New commercial FM ethnic radio in Toronto at 101.3 MHz, expiring 31 August 2009.

2003-116 La Coopérative radiophonique de Toronto inc., Toronto, Ontario. APPROVED – New French-language community radio station in Toronto at 105.1 MHz, expiring 31 August 2009.

2003-117 Father Hernan Astudillo, on behalf of a corporation to be incorporated as San Lorenzo Latin American Community Centre, Toronto, Ontario. APPROVED – New Type B ethnic community AM radio station in Toronto at 1610 kHz. expiring 31 August 2009.

2003-118 Sur Sagar Radio Inc., Toronto, Ontario. APPROVED – New stand-alone ethnic transitional digital radio undertaking in Toronto, expiring 31 August 2006.

2003-119 Radio 1540 Limited, Toronto, Ontario. APPROVED – Change of frequency for CHIN-1-FM Toronto from 101.3 MHz (channel 267LP) to 91.9 MHz (channel 220A1) and increase of the effective radiated power from 22 watts to 35 watts.

2003-120 Various applicants, Toronto, Ontario. DENIED – Various applications considered at the 17 September 2002 Toronto public hearing, as noted in the Decision.

Telecom Decision:

2003-24 The Commission finds that Aliant Telecom Inc.'s Late Payment Charges (LPCs), with no minimum LPC, provide adequate compensation for late payments. The Commission directs Aliant Telecom to remove the minimum LPC for customers in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Reference: 8638-C12-75/02.

2003-20 Introductory statement to Broadcasting Decisions CRTC 2003-115 to 2003-120: Applications for new radio stations to serve Toronto.

Telecom Orders:

2003-155 The Commission approves an application by La Compagnie de Téléphone de Lambton Inc., dated 10 March 2003, to implement technical changes to item 1.3.10, Use of Customer-Provided Equipment with the Company's Facilities, pursuant to a Commission staff letter entitled New terminal attachment program requirements, dated 30 December 2002. Reference: TN 25. Eff. date: 17.04.03.

2003-156 The Commission approves an application by Prince Rupert City Telephones, dated 12 March 2003, to implement technical changes to item 1, Terminal Attachment Program, pursuant to a Commission staff letter entitled New terminal attachment program requirements, dated 30 December 2002. Reference: TN 62. Eff. date: 17.04.03.

2003-157 The Commission appoves an application by Prince Rupert City Telephones, (CityTel) dated 11 March 2003, to offer a promotion to residential customers whereby CityTel would waive the applicable Field or Office Connection service charges when customers subscribe to a residential additional individual line, between 1 May 2003 and 30 June 2003. Reference: TN 63.

2003-158 The Commission received an application by Prince Rupert City Telephones (CityTel), dated 11 March 2003, to offer a promotion whereby CityTel would waive the service connection charge for new cellular customers between 1 June 2003 and 1 September 2003. The promotion will be repeated between 1 December 2003 and 31 December 2003. Reference: TN 64.
