Broadcasting Decisions:

2003-408 Saskatchewan Telecommunications, MTS Communications Inc., Shaw Communications Inc. and Shaw Pay-Per-View Ltd. (formerly Corus VC Ltd.). Complaints by Saskatchewan Telecommunications and MTS Communications Inc. alleging breaches of section 9 of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations against Shaw Communications Inc. and of section 6.1(1) of the Pay Television Regulations, 1990 against Shaw Pay-Per-View Ltd. (formerly Corus VC Ltd.). The Commission allows the complaints filed by Saskatchewan Telecommunications and MTS Communications Inc. and concludes that Shaw Pay-Per-View Ltd. (formerly Corus VC Ltd.) contravened section 6.1(1) of the Pay Television Regulations, 1990, which prohibits licensees from giving an undue preference to any person, including itself, or subjecting any person to an undue disadvantage. 2003-409 Blackburn Radio Inc., Leamington, Ontario. APPROVED – Renewal of the broadcasting licence for CHYR-FM Leamington from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2007. (.pdf)

2003-410 Tri-Tel Communications Inc., Timmins, Ontario. APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets assets of the radio programming undertaking CKTT FM Timmins, Ontario from 1311831 Ontario Limited.

2003-411 Slocan Valley T.V. Society, Crescent Valley, British Columbia. APPROVED – Renewal of the broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking consisting of four low-power television transmitters at Crescent Valley, from 1 September 2003 to 31 August 2010.

2003-412 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Fredericton and Edmundston, New Brunswick. APPROVED – New transmitter in Edmundston to rebroadcast the programming of its national English language network service Radio One.

2003-8 The Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 20 October 2003 at 9:30 a.m., at the Conference Centre, Portage IV, 140 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, Quebec, to consider various broadcasting applications . the following applications. The intervention deadline is 25 September 2003.
