Please be advised some Telecom applications received during the week of April 28 to May 4, 2003 were not dealt with in time for the Weekly Report on Monday. The last update was done on Tuesday, May 6 at midnight.

Broadcasting Decisions:

2003-143 Phil Wintemute, Telecommunications Manager, Department of Highways and Public Works, Government of Yukon, and his successors Haines Junction, Yukon Territory - APPROVED - Broadcasting licence to operate a radiocommunication distribution undertaking consisting of an FM radio transmitter to serve Haines Junction, Yukon Territory. The licence will expire on 31 August 2009. (.pdf)

2003-144 Phil Wintemute, Telecommunications Manager, Department of Highways and Public Works, Government of Yukon, and his successors Horse Camp Hill, Yukon Territory - APPROVED – Acquisition of the assets of the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Horse Camp Hill from The Beaver Creek Community Club and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of the undertaking. The licence will expire on 31 August 2003. (.pdf)

2003-145 Medicine Hat Broadcasting Ltd., Rocky Mountain House, Nordegg and Drayton Valley, Alberta - APPROVED - Acquire the assets of the radio programming undertakings CIBW-FM Drayton Valley, CHBW-FM Rocky Mountain House and its rebroadcaster CHBW-FM-1 Nordegg from Big West Communications Corp. and for broadcasting licences to continue the operation of these undertakings. The licences will expire on 31 August 2007.

2003-146 Sound of Faith Broadcasting, Woodstock, Ontario - APPROVED - Low-power English-language specialty FM radio programming undertaking in Woodstock, Ontario. The licence will expire on 31 August 2009.

2003-147 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Victoria, British Columbia - APPROVED – New transmitter in Victoria to rebroadcast the programming of the national French-language network service La Première Chaîne.

Telecom Decisions:

2003-27 Follow up proceeding to Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-56 – Foregone toll revenue compensation for expanded local calling areas. The Commission establishes that compensation to toll service providers for expanded local calling areas will be equal to three years worth of foregone toll revenues. Reference: 8638-C12-68/02.

2003-28 Microcell Telecommunications Inc. - Application to review and vary Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-56. The Commission permits competitive local exchange carriers to opt out, on a one time basis, from both collecting and contributing funds associated with the compensation plan designed to compensate long distance service providers for foregone toll revenue resulting from the expansion of a local calling area. Reference: 8662-M16-03/02.

Telecom Order:

2003-184 The Commission approves an application by Aliant Telecom Inc., dated 1 April 2003, to implement technical changes pursuant to a Commission staff letter entitled New terminal attachment program requirements, 30 December 2002, to Maritime Tel & Tel Limited's, Island Telecom Inc.'s, NBTel Inc.'s and NewTel Communications Inc.'s General Tariffs.
