CRTC extends benefits of
number portability to wireless consumers on a timely basis
Telecom Decisions:
2005-72 The
Commission requires wireless carriers to port in and port out telephone numbers,
and grants them direct access to existing Canadian number portability systems,
without having to meet the competitive local exchange carrier obligations at this

2005-73
Consensus report on 9-1-1/E9-1-1 services provided to fixed/non-native VoIP
subscribers. Reference: 8663-C12-200402892 and 8621-C12-01/00.
Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing:
2005-11 The
Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 20 February 2006 at
9:30 a.m., Metropolitan Conference Centre, 333 Fourth Avenue South West, Calgary,
Alberta to consider 39 applications. The deadline for submission of
interventions/comments is 24 January 2006.
Telecom Orders:
2005-412 The
Commission approves on an interim basis the following tariff applications: Aliant
Telecom Inc. TN 187 and Bell Canada TN 6915. (streamlined order)
2005-413 The
Commission approves an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications, dated
13 October 2005, proposing revisions to its General Tariff in order to withdraw
Exchange Radio Telephone Service. Reference: TN 96. Eff. date = 12.01.2006.
