What's New - March 29, 2000

The CRTC has implemented a one-numbering system for its broadcasting and telecommunications decisions and notices. All CRTC decisions and notices will now be numbered in sequence. We hope that this will make it easier for you to access our documents.

CRTC - Public Participation Benefits Everyone!

DECISIONS:

2000-89 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Sherbrooke, Asbestos, etc., Quebec. APPROVED - Applications by the CBC to convert CBF-FM-10 Sherbrooke and CBF-FM-8 Trois-Rivières to French-language FM radio programming undertakings broadcasting regional programming. APPROVED – Application to retransmit the programming of the new Sherbrooke station on CBF-FM-11 Asbestos, CBF-FM-6 Lac Mégantic and CBF-FM-12 Victoriaville, rather than the programming of CBF-FM Montréal.

2000-90 Cogeco Cable Systems Inc., Oakville/Burlington; part of Hamilton, etc., Ontario. Cableworks Communications Inc., part of Hamilton and Stoney Creek; etc., Ontario. Halton Cable Systems Inc., Georgetown/Acton and surrounding area; etc., Ontario. APPROVED – Applications for conditions of licence authorizing deletion of the signal of CFPL-TV London on an analogue channel of the basic service; and substitution of the signal of CKVR-TV Barrie for that of a non-Canadian station when both are broadcasting identical programming.

NOTICE:

2000-49 Fort St. James Television Society, Fort St. James, British Columbia. To make a variety of changes to the television services available from the (radiocommunication) distribution undertaking serving Fort St. James.

ORDERS:

2000-238 Bell TN 6451. The Commission approves Bell's request to extend the consumer winback promotion which waves the $55.00 service connection charge to 5 July 2000. Eff. date = 05.04.2000.

2000-239 Bell TN 6458. The Commission approves Bell's request to provide for DMS translations to give Centrex customers the ability to set-up network speed calling from their locals. Eff. date = 29.03.2000.

2000-240 Bruce TN 73. The Commission approves Bruce's request to introduce a promotion for Call Name Display and Visual Call Waiting. Eff. date = 01.04.2000.

2000-241 Télébec TN 241. The Commission approves Télébec's request to provide a specialized 10/100 Mbps high speed access service. Eff. Date = 3.4.2000.

2000-242 CityTel TN 41. The Commission approves CityTel's request to waive the field or office connection service charges applicable to the provision of an additional residential line from 1 April 2000 to 30 September 2000.

2000-243 Québec-Téléphone TN 261. The Commission approves Québec-Téléphone's request to establish extended area service between the exchanges of Esprit-Saint and Biencourt. Eff. date = 08.04.2000.

2000-244 Québec-Téléphone TN 263. The Commission approves on an interim basis Québec-Téléphone's request to introduce a billing and collection service for interexchange service providers. Eff. date = 29.03.2000.

2000-245 TCBC TN 4017. The Commission approves on a final basis TCBC's application dated 30 November 1999 to extend the Centrex MESSAGEMANAGER Two Months Free Promotion to 31 March 2000.
