What's New - March 3, 2000

The CRTC has implemented a one-numbering system for its broadcasting and telecommunications decisions and notices. All CRTC decisions and notices will now be numbered in sequence. We hope that this will make it easier for you to access our documents.

NOTICE:

2000-33 Western Canada and Territories Region. To amend the broadcasting licence for CKKX-FM and CKYL, Peace River Broadcasting Corporation Ltd., Valleyview, Alberta and for CFPG-FM Prince George Community FM Stereo Society, Prince George, British Columbia. Deadline for intervention: 7 April 2000.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING:

2000-2 The Commission will hold a public hearing commencing on 9 May 2000, at 9:00 a.m., at the Holiday Inn Kingston-Waterfront, 1 Princess Street, Kingston, Ontario, to consider 15 items, for a new English-language national television specialty service, as well as for new English-language radio programming and acquisitions of assets. Deadline for intervention: 13 April 2000.

ORDERS:

2000-166 TCBC. TN 4029. The Commission denies the company's proposed promotion to provide residential No Limits PCMS customers who subscribe to Call Answer, to also receive Family Extension and Message Monitor at no charge for the promotional period. The company also proposed to waive service charges for Integrated Voice Messaging Services that would be subscribed to as a result of the promotion.

2000-167 Stentor. TN 669 and TCI TNs 1047/A/B/C and associated agreements. This order provides final rates for the incumbent telephone companies' exchange of subscriber listings with new local competitive telephone companies. The exchange of subscriber listings will allow all local telephone companies to provide telephone books and/or directory assistance service. This order also denies access to the BLIF service by wireless, toll or operator services companies.

2000-168 TCBC. TN 4003. The Commission approves TCBC's request to reflect the Commission's determinations outlined in Telecom Decision CRTC 99-10 entitled Location of Demarcation Point for Inside Wire in Multi-Dwelling Units and Associated Issues. Eff. date = 17.04.2000.
