DECISIONS:

2000-417 Yves Sauvé, on behalf of a company to be incorporated and to be known as Société Radio St-Laurent, Saint-Nicolas, Quebec. APPROVED - Licence for a French-language AM radio station at Saint-Nicolas, expiring 31 August 2007.

2000-418 TQS inc., Montréal, Rimouski and Québec, Quebec. APPROVED – Renewal of the licences of the Quatre Saisons television network, of CFJP-TV Montréal and its transmitter CJPC-TV Rimouski, as well as of CFAP-TV Québec, from 1 September 2001 until 31 August 2008. APPROVED – Deletion and addition of certain conditions of licence as noted in the decision.

2000-419 Rogers Communications Inc., Various localities listed in Appendix 1 to the decision; Shaw Communications Inc., Various localities listed in Appendix 2 to the decision. APPROVED - Exchange of cable systems between Rogers and Shaw that will result in greater efficiencies, cost savings and service improvements. The approval allows the two companies to rationalize their cable holdings in Canada. Rogers acquires Shaw cable systems in New Brunswick, Southern Ontario and Quebec and Shaw acquires the Rogers cable systems located in British Columbia.

2000-420 CanWest Global Communications Corp, on behalf of CW Shareholdings Inc., Across Canada. APPROVED – Acquisition of the 24% partnership interest held by Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (Cancom) in the specialty service Report on Business Television, a general partnership.

2000-147 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Corner Brook, Newfoundland; 1158556 Ontario Ltd., Chapleau, Elliot Lake, New Liskeard, Sault Ste. Marie and Wawa, Ontario. To add various low power FM radio transmitters. Fairchild Radio (Vancouver FM) Ltd., Vancouver, British Columbia. To amend the broadcasting licence of radio station CHKG-FM Vancouver. Corus VC Ltd., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories. To amend its direct-to-home (DTH) pay-per-view licence. Deadline for intervention:  1 December 2000.
