Further to its Broadcasting Notice of
Public Hearing CRTC 2004-6 dated 8 July 2004 and Notice of public
hearing CRTC 2004-6-1 dated 20 July 2004 relating to a Public Hearing which will be held on 1
November 2004 at 9:30 a.m., at the Conference Centre, Portage
IV, 140 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, Quebec, to consider,

Preamble (for items 4 to 19) |
|
On January 22, 2004, the Commission issued
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2004-3, calling for applications
for a broadcasting licence to carry on a radio programming undertaking
to serve Ottawa, Ontario and Gatineau, Quebec. |
|
Further to this call, the Commission
received a significant number of applications for licences to serve the
aforementioned market (Items 4 to 19). A number of these applications
are proposing to use similar frequencies and are therefore technically
mutually exclusive. The applications are: |

Items 11, 12, 13 and 15 are technically
mutually exclusive proposing the use of the frequency 88.5 MHz. |
|
Items 4, 6, 10, 14 and 17 are technically
mutually exclusive proposing the use of the frequency 96.5 MHz. These
items are also technically mutually exclusive with item 9, proposing the
use of the frequency 96.3 MHz. |
|
Items 5, 8, 16, 18 and 19 are
technically mutually exclusive proposing the use of the frequency
98.5 MHz. |
|
These applications along with item 7 will
be treated as competitive radio applications for Ottawa/Gatineau. |

Amalco. Two new holding corporations, one being a wholly-owned
