|
Transfer of assets – Corporate reorganization
|
1. |
The Commission approves the
application by CJNE FM Radio Inc. (CJNE) for authority to acquire from
Nor-Com Electronics Ltd. (Nor-Com), as part of a corporate
reorganization, the assets of the radio programming undertaking CJNE-FM
Nipawin, Saskatchewan and of the low-power radio programming undertaking
VF2212 Carrot River, Saskatchewan. |
2. |
The applicant also requested broadcasting
licences to operate these undertakings under the same terms and
conditions as those in effect under the existing licences. |
3. |
The Commission notes that, further to the
corporate reorganization, the assets will be transferred from Nor-Com, a
company owned by Mr. Norman Rudock, to CJNE, another of Mr. Rudock’s
companies. As a result, the control of the undertakings will not be
affected as it will continue to be exercised by Mr. Rudock. |
4. |
The Commission received one intervention in
support of this application. |
5. |
The Commission will issue licences to CJNE
once the current licences issued to Nor-Com have been surrendered to the
Commission. |
6. |
The new licence for VF2212 will expire
31 August 2011 and for CJNE-FM on 31 August 2008. The licences
will be subject to the same terms and conditions as those specified
in New low-power FM radio programming undertaking, Decision
CRTC 99-186, 29 July 1999 (VF2212),
and New FM radio programming undertaking at Nipawin,
Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-2,
10 January 2002 (CJNE-FM). |
7. |
In accordance with Implementation of
an employment equity policy, Public Notice CRTC 1992-59,
1 September 1992, the Commission encourages the licensee to consider
employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other
aspects of its management of human resources. |
