Custom Calling Features and Call Management Service
|
1. |
The Commission received an application by
North Renfrew Telephone Company Limited (North Renfrew), dated 30
December 2004 and modified on 15 February 2005, to revise General Tariff
item 7, Custom Calling Features, and item 12, Call Management Service,
under section 490 to increase the rates of existing features, to revise
feature descriptions and to differentiate between business and
residential services. |

|
3. |
North Renfrew also proposed to introduce a
new custom call feature, Visual Call Waiting at a monthly rate of $4.00. |
4. |
The Commission received no comments with
respect to the application. |
5. |
In Regulatory framework for the small
incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756,
14 December 2001 (Decision 2001-756),
the Commission determined that the fourth service basket comprises
all other services (not in baskets 1,2 and 3) offered by the small
incumbent local exchange carriers, such as optional services, multi-element
service categories, special facilities tariffs and competitor access
tariffs. The Commission also determined that rates for these services
would be permitted to increase up to an already approved rate for
the same service. It stated that tariff applications could be submitted
at any time and should reference when and where the Commission approved
the rate. |
6. |
The Commission notes that the rates proposed
by North Renfrew are lower than the rates currently charged by Bell
Canada for the same services. The Commission also notes that North Renfrew's
proposal meet the requirements set out in Decision 2001-756. |
7. |
The Commission approves North
Renfrew's application. The revisions take effect as of 1 March 2005. |
8. |
North Renfrew is to issue revised tariff
pages forthwith to reflect these changes. |
