Revocation of licence

1. |
The Yellowknife Rebroadcasting Society has
requested the revocation of its broadcasting licence for the
radiocommunication distribution undertaking (RDU) authorized to serve
Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. |

Given the licensee’s request, the
Commission revokes, pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the
Broadcasting Act, the broadcasting licence issued to The
Yellowknife Rebroadcasting Society for the above-mentioned undertaking. |

This RDU currently broadcasts the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation’s (CBC) national English-language network
service Radio Two from CBU-FM Vancouver, British Columbia. In CBU-FM
Vancouver – New transmitter in Yellowknife, Broadcasting Decision
CRTC 2005-224, also released today, the
Commission authorizes the CBC to operate a transmitter in Yellowknife
to rebroadcast Radio Two from CBU-FM. Accordingly, the residents of
Yellowknife will continue to receive Radio Two by means of the CBC’s
transmitter. |
