Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2005-297

  Ottawa, 5 July 2005
  Standard Radio Inc.
Hamilton, Ontario
  Application 2004-1369-1
Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2005-33
18 April 2005

CKLH-FM Hamilton – Licence renewal

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the commercial radio programming undertaking CKLH-FM Hamilton, from 1 September 2005 to 31 August 2012.

2.

The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.

3.

The licence will be subject to the conditions set out in New licence form for commercial radio stations, Public Notice CRTC 1999-137, 24 August 1999, as well as to the following condition of licence:

  • The licensee is authorized to use a Subsidiary Communications Multiplex Operation (SCMO) channel to distribute ethnic programming in the German language.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that it must fulfil all of the commitments to benefits described in Standard acquires the assets of radio stations, radio networks and television stations in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-91, 19 April 2002, in which the Commission approved applications by Standard Radio Inc. to acquire, among other assets, the assets of 64 radio stations including CKLH-FM.

5.

Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with the Department of Human Resources and Skills Development, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
