Revocation of licence

C.O.R.B. Swift Current & District Inc. has
requested the revocation of its broadcasting licence for the
radiocommunication distribution undertaking (RDU) authorized to serve
Swift Current, Saskatchewan. |

Given the licensee’s request, the
Commission revokes, pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the
Broadcasting Act, the broadcasting licence issued to C.O.R.B.
Swift Current & District Inc. for the above-mentioned undertaking. |

This RDU currently broadcasts the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation’s (CBC) national English-language network
service Radio Two from CBK-FM Regina. In CBK-FM Regina – New transmitter
in Swift Current, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2005-141,
also released today, the Commission authorizes the CBC to operate
a transmitter in Swift Current to broadcast Radio Two from CBK-FM.
Accordingly, the residents of Swift Current will continue to receive
Radio Two by means of the CBC’s transmitter. |
